Mother and Baby Music

Our very first experiences of hearing are developed during intra-uterine life in the womb, where the sounds we hear are organic, rhythmic and natural. Familiar sounds and music are calming and reassuring to the young baby, creating an intimate barrier of safety and love. Research suggests that smooth, harmonious music can facilitate the transition from alert wakefulness to sleep in infants, thus reducing irritability and crying.

Simon has carefully structured each composition so that the music may entrain the heart rate and respiration of the listener via its rhythmic pulse.
